Vote Kahle

William A. Crane, Judge Emeritus, Saginaw, Michigan
I am honored to recommend Mindy Kahle for the position of Cascade County Sheriff. I first met her when she and her husband Dr. Kahle bought property from the Estates that I owned. I have been a guest in their then home in Reno, Nevada. Because I was a judge already for five years and a prosecutor before, I was fascinated with her background.

She was serving at that time in Washoe County but it was her forensic background that is so critical today to support the jury’s decision to convict that was of great interest. She has trained for Forensic interviews of children, sexual assault victims but also processing many crime scenes. This involved photography, packaging evidence, and lifting fingerprints, and blood splatter evidence. She serves in the coroner’s office as a Medical Examiner Investigator. She has had Medico legal Death investigation training, skeletal recovery training, and is a Diplomate, American Board of Medico legal Death Investigation. Not only her experience of 30 + years on patrol as a policeman but her training as a detective in forensics is most unique and critical for effective prosecutions of criminals and establishment of innocence. The jury always wants to see the finger prints or the blood splatter evidence, but this costs money to bring in a forensic expert and thus requires careful judgment at the crime scene by the deputy and their Sheriff. Her guidance will be invaluable.

Carrie Bennett, Retired Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Captain
I support Mindy Kahle as the next Sheriff of Cascade County. Mindy Kahle acquired a great deal of experience dealing with local, county and state law enforcement agencies throughout her career and residences in both Nevada and California. She is the ultimate public servant and is always professional in her dealings with the public. After retiring from California law enforcement, Mindy began working with the Washoe County Coroner’s Office to fulfill her passion in this line of work and, to this day, continues to express her dedication to law enforcement .

Mrs. Kahle and her husband have moved to Cascade County and have future plans for development to help others going through difficult times. She and her husband are very well liked and respected in the community where they both have served long hours as volunteers in times of post-critical incidents such as a line of duty deaths, officer involved shootings and, more closer to home, recent mining accidents.

As the Commander of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM)Team for many years, I directly observed Mindy in action from 2005 through 2021 as she team led interventions and assisted with team training and development. I most admire Mindy for her selfless volunteer work in this capacity.

With proud enthusiasm, I endorse Melinda Kahle as Cascade County Sheriff.
